Der Call for Proposals ist geschlossen.
The betterCode 2020 takes place from 28 September to 2 October. In over 100 sessions and workshops, the new conference will offer its participants a cross-section of the most important developments in programming paradigms, programming languages and tools, as well as the cultural shifts in IT departments.
The conference consists of three main conference days and two workshop days. The conference language is German, but English language submissions are also welcome.
The hosts of the conference invite experts of the following aspects of software developmemt to submit presentations and full-day tutorials by April 3, 2020. Please use the online form.
Submissions can cover all phases of software development, from planning to operation.
Sessions on tools should focus on practical introductions, conceptual reflection, live demos or comparison of different approaches instead of covering specific products.
In project reports, speakers share their experiences from current and completed software development projects. The spectrum covers the entire software development cycle. The use of tools and their integration can also be described here. Important here are not only successes, but also dead ends, setbacks and workarounds, from which the audience can abstract and benefit.
Either talks of 45 minutes or longer sessions of 75 minutes are desired. Workshops are planned as full-day events (6 to 7 hours). The organizers ask for the submission of abstracts (up to 750 characters). Additional material supporting the application (long abstracts, slides, essays etc.) are also welcome. Special attention will be paid to the positioning of the submissions with regard to the previous knowledge of the participants and the respective learning objective. The deadline for submissions is April 3, 2020. The complete schedule will be available online by May 2020.
If the speakers are accepted, we book the hotel accommodation necessary for the talk and reimburse the costs for travel to and from the venue as part of a 2nd class train ticket within Germany. They also have free access to all talks at the conference. Workshop trainers receive additional financial compensation. Speakers who would have to fly in from abroad should contact the organisers regarding the financing of the trip.
